In partnership with Masimo, USAID supported Vriddhi project aiming to introduce multimodal pulse oximeter Rad-G devices in healthcare facilities in select focus states with a view to pilot its usability, acceptability and ruggedness in field conditions. Rad-G is a non-invasive multi-modal device that measures oxygen saturation of blood and respiratory rate. It is revolutionizing childhood pneumonia management in outreach settings.

Laerdal Medical India Pvt. Ltd. is the Indian subsidiary of Laerdal Medical AS, headquartered in Norway, and is dedicated to helping save lives with training programs and products. Laerdal Global Health AS is a sister concern of Laerdal Medical AS and develops durable, simple, culturally adaptable, affordable products and programs aimed at helping save lives of newborns and mothers in low-resource countries. Laerdal Medical India Pvt. Ltd. represents Laerdal Global Health AS and Laerdal Medical AS in India.
USAID-Vriddhi project, under the LaQshya programme is introducing a device named “MOYO – Fetal Heart Rate Monitor” by Laerdal Laerdal Global Health for healthcare professionals to monitor fetal heart rate during Labor with an objective to improve fetal heart rate monitoring to enable early detection of fetal distress and thereby prompt actions that will help reduce neonatal deaths in intrapartum period.
Maternity Foundation is a Danish development organization that aims to reduce maternal and newborn mortality in developing countries. With the vision ‘No women should die giving life’, Maternity Foundation works to empower and mobilize women to seek care, to build the capacity of and train health practitioners, so that more women give birth with skilled birth attendance.
Maternity Foundation’s Safe Delivery App is a smartphone application that provides skilled birth attendants with direct and instant access to evidence-based and up-to-date clinical guidelines on Basic Emergency Obstetric and Neonatal Care. The App was created in 2012 with support from MSD for Mothers, and in collaboration with the University of Copenhagen and the University of Southern Denmark. The App is also currently supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The content of the app is based on global clinical guidelines and has been validated with an international group of global health experts.
IPE Global and Maternity Foundation with this Safe Delivery APP aims to upscale the use of the M-health tool in the Indian public health system, especially in the LaQshya facilities, for enhancing skills and knowledge of service providers in management of emergency obstetric and neonatal situations.
